About Clear8: UK 8-Ball Pool Strategy & Pattern Play
You might be good at potting balls. But how good are you at planning a clearance?
Clear8 is an online UK 8-ball pool strategy challenge for beginners and intermediate players. Practise choosing your colour, planning your potting order and controlling where the cue ball finishes.
Practise planning a pool clearance
Good pattern play means making your next shot easier. Clear8 challenges you to look beyond the ball you are potting and plan a route through your colours to the black.
Choose a numbered ball, select its pocket, adjust the shot strength and tap the white to play. Your decisions affect your position for the next shot and your final score.
Choose Easy or Intermediate
Easy mode displays guides showing the object-ball path and estimated cue-ball finish. Intermediate removes those guides so you can test your judgement.
Both levels encourage you to plan ahead, avoid unnecessary risks and leave yourself a manageable next shot.
Work towards 100/100
Every layout has a potential score of 100/100 through its intended best route without hints. Your chosen colour, clearance pattern and use of hints affect your score.
Layouts are designed to allow a clearance without moving or developing other balls. During clearance of your colours, shots requiring contact with another ball after the pot are not supported. On the final black, that contact is allowed provided the approach and pot are clear and the predicted shot does not pocket the white.
If you leave no supported clear shot, your visit ends. You can inspect the final table position and the explanation to understand what happened.
Clear8 currently models stun shots at impact with three shot strengths. It focuses on clearance planning rather than the full range of shots available on a real table.
